he Nationwide Tour is the developmental tour for the U.S.-based PGA Tour, and features professional golfers who have either failed to score well enough at that level’s Qualifying School (the main tour’s qualifying tournament, popularly referred to as “Q-School”) to earn their PGA Tour card, or who have done so but then failed to win enough money to stay at that level. Those who are on the top 25 of the money list at year’s end are given PGA Tour memberships for the next season.


The Utah Championship presented by Utah Sports Commission is a golf tournament on the Nationwide Tour. It is played annually at the Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy, Utah, USA.

The 2009 purse was $550,000, with $99,000 going to the winner.

Kevin Kisner became the 18th different winner this season when he fired a 67 on Sunday to win the Mylan Classic in Canonsburg, Pa.

When the tournament started Kisner was ranked 50th on the money list but now he’s at No. 14 and is in good shape to earn his PGA TOUR card for 2011. The top 25 at the end of the season earn cards for next season and the rookie from the University of Georgia has gotten hot at the right time.

“This game is so much about winning and you have to beat 155 great players in order to have a chance. This is pretty special,” he said after shooting three 68s before his final round 67.

There are eight tournaments left in the season as the tour moves to Salt Lake City for the Utah Championship presented by the Utah Sports Commission.

SUMMERHAYS		 There arent many home games in golf, but he has one this week. Even though he missed the cut last week, Summerhays sits at 15th on the money list and has three top 10s in his last six tournaments.

KISNER		 The Tour rookie who is a graduate of Georgia won on Sunday so why not go for two in a row? Confidence for a young player is a very useful tool to have.

SISK		 He came so close this past week to get that elusive first win but a double bogey on 17 on Sunday cost him. Sisk, 45, had his best finish on the Nationwide Tour and moved from 87 to 37 on the money list.
Chris
KIRK		 His last outing he won in Knoxville and is scheduled to be in the field this week in Salt Lake City. He leads the money list and has two victories this season. Hes also been consistent with 10 top 25s in 18 events.
Andrew
BUCKLE		 He sits 62nd on the money list, but last year in Utah he tied for third. He doesnt exactly come in with a head of steam having missed three of his last four cuts.
